We have made it to Georgetown...the usual long but efficient 16 hour journey at the airport at 12.45am....to be met by no one!!...quick phone calls ...20 minutes later Steve and Camille from the VSO Office arrive..full of apologies.... minor confusions ...arriving at the guesthouse exhausted. We had travelled with Michelle from Galway an occupational therapist and Lucia from London who is here to work with visually impaired people - two remarkable young women who have already packed in a load of travel and work experiences into their lives. Lucia incidentally has no sight!! but her determination and intelligence is a shining beacon to us all.
The VSO Office and volunteers have been so welcoming and helpful ...it was good to meet Stephen and Ian whom I've been emailing for some time now...and now we settle down to 10 days in country training here ...and hey the 20/20 tournament is in full swing...well that is a piece of luck!

20/20 tournament??? And you mentioned this to Trudi before you left? I hope you aren't treating this as an extended Barmy Army expedition!
It has just sunk in that you have finally escaped- trying to organise a half term meet with Whinder in Peckish, dialled your number and got unobtainable! We'll have an extra tea cake in your absence!
Can we see any correlation between you leaving and the Labour Party now nationalising Northern Rock?
Take care, see you in 700 days!
